Wordpress is arguably one of the most popular blog tools, publishing platforms and CMS. It boasts state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. Being very easy to install, maintain and customise with thousands of themes, it is a very attractive quick solution for creating a website from scratch.
1 Log into your cPanel. If you are unsure on how to do this, please view the following help article - 'How to log into cPanel'.
4 It is now important that you complete the details for your Wordpress website such as the domain that the site is going on and the 'Admin Account' details which will be required to log into the Wordpress admin area. The majority of the other options can be left by default or changed later.
Information It is recommended at this point that you note down your 'In Directory' choice and also the 'Admin Account' login details as this will save you hassle later if you have forgotten this information.
6 After a few moments, after the system has checked that the details that you provided were acceptable, you will see on screen confirmation.
7 You can now visit your website where the Wordpress software was installed to by clicking the advised on screen URL.
8 You can customise the website by visiting the 'Admin' section of Wordpress. To access this area, just type '/wp-admin/' onto the end of the URL.
Information Your login details for the Wordpress Admin area were the details that we recommended you wrote down from step 4.
Information There are thousands of Wordpress Themes and Wordpress Plugins that you can add to your respective Wordpress directory (by FTP or by the Wordpress Admin area) to customise your website. If you are using FTP, ensure that you add your files to the right directory as noted down in step 4.
