Setting up DNS MX Records for Google Apps

Setting up DNS MX records for a Google Apps account is possible via cPanel so you can easily access and manage your emails. * * * The first step is to log into your cPanel account. If you are unsure on how to do this, please view the following help article - '[How to log into cPanel](https://hostpresto.com/help/article/1)'. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/QRmld56.png "MX Records 1") * * * Scroll down to the '**Email**' section and choose '**MX Entry**'. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/8laeQb5.png "MX Records 2") * * * Select your domain from the '**Domain**' dropdown menu. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/r9LKRFq.png "MX Records 3") * * * From the '**Email Routing**' options, choose '**Remote Mail Exchanger**'. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/rA5OhoR.png "MX Records 4") * * * Complete the email routing change by selecting '**Change**'. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/VAYJjLE.png "MX Records 5") * * * ### Add New MX Entry Record Next, scroll down to the '**Add New Record**' section. Enter the primary email server in the '**Destination**' box. At the time of writing this article, the recommended Google Apps server was '**smtp-relay.gmail.com**'. However, please refer to the [Google Apps settings](https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en) documentation for up to date information in case this has since changed. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/QOzzm9Z.png "MX Records 6") * * * Enter the '**Priority** for the MX Record. MX records with a lower number have higher priority than MX records with a higher number. To use the new email server as the primary server, give it the lowest possible priority number (0). ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/JPoFzi3.png "MX Records 7") * * * Click '**Add New Record**' to complete adding the MX entry record. ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/M4xt6GM.png "MX Records 8") > To add additional Google Apps MX records, repeat the add MX process again and give backup servers a lower priority than the primary email server. * * *
