One way to additionally optimise your site is to switch on Gzip compression. You may have been advised to “Enable Compression” when running your website through an external performance tester, such as Pingdom Tools, GTMetrix or Google Pagespeed tools.

cPanel allows you to quickly enable this for your website. To do this, follow the guide below:

Enabling Compression

Firstly, log into your cPanel account. If you are unsure on how to do this, please view the following help article – ‘How to log into cPanel‘, Then once logged in – under the Software heading, click on Optimize Website

On the Optimize Website page, select Compress All Content, Then click on Update Settings

Once updated, this will have enabled Gzip compression for your website. We would advise to have a quick check over your site to ensure everything is still displaying and working correctly.
